DGLux Data Visualization Dashboards
DGLux is a technology developed by DGLogik,Inc. The platform offers an advanced authoring environment that is built on DGML Runtime (a cross-platform runtime interpreter utilizing Adobe's Flash
Player).
As a thin client-side technology, DGLux is a back-end system agnostic platform which supports mashing up KPIs from various data sources in a single user environment. A scalable architecture and open
API allow for easy creation of new data adapters by 3rd party developers.
Solution Details
DGLux is a client-side visualization platform that can be deployed on many different types of hosts and visualize data feeds from multiple types of DataProviders. DGLux Editions are organized by a specific host type that DGLux is deployed onto. All DGLux Editions can utilize other a-la-carte Data Adapters available from DGLogik or created by 3rd party developers using DGLux’s Open Data Adapter API.
A DGLux Edition is tied to a specific server-side technology. Internally DGLux utilizes this Host Adapter to perform operations such as:
- Access Control / User Management
- Serving the DGLux Application to the client web-browser
- Saving and viewing DGLux dashboards/applications
- Uploading and managing media assets such as images, sounds and video clips
Data Adapters are utilized to consume data-feeds from disparate data sources for visualization in a DGLux application. Since the DGLux Application is served from a server and is executed on the client machine; it is able to communicate with supported data providers directly. In addition to the constantly growing list of Data Adapters offered by DGLogik, there exists an open API that may be utilized by customers to build their own custom Data Adapters. Our popular CSV Data Adapter is offered as an open-source reference implementation of the API in order to ease the development process.
